Sunshine Coast First Aid Courses is a local provider and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) 40407 specialising in delivering high-quality first aid training in Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caboolture.

Sunshine Coast First Aid Courses is privately operated by Registered Nurse and Educator Sharon McCulloch. It has many years of experience teaching a variety of industries including, Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Professionals, Child Carers, industry and anybody who wants to learn how to save a life.

My mission in life is to help others.

My background has consisted of working in the health industry with a specific focus on hospitals, where first hand I have seen the impact of first aid not being applied and the consequences that have stemmed from that.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Griffith University, Logan. I then proceeded to work in many Queensland hospitals such as Greenslopes Private Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital (PA Hospital) and Logan Hospital.

While working with graduate nurses in the hospital system, it opened my eyes to the practical needs that the hospital required, along with the gaps in the training the nurses were receiving.

I thought I could help improve the system for everyone concerned – the hospitals, the nurses and the patients – by being involved in the education of our nurses.

As a Nursing Clinical Facilitator at Griffith University in Logan, I took students through their clinical placements. I also worked for TAFE, where I was introduced to Registered Training Organisations.

When I worked in emergency departments, I could see more training was needed for employers with regards to first aid situations. After my experience in the education sector, I thought I would start a company offering first aid and CPR courses at affordable prices in convenient locations with flexible timetables to accommodate individuals, groups, businesses and organisations. This gave me the idea to start Sunshine Coast First Aid Courses (FirstAidPro), which is now almost 10 years old.

I wanted to offer face-to-face nationally accredited First Aid and CPR training programs to everyone, and now we are expanding the array of online first aid courses with CPR first aid online, child care first aid online, First Aid refresher courses.”
