HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Course superseded by HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Sunshine Coast First Aid offer nationally accredited and ACN approved First Aid courses for individuals and business in Caloundra and Maroochydore and across the Sunshine Coast. Our HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation course gives you all the skills and practical experience required to resuscitate a casualty. It covers both manual CPR techniques and detailed instructions on the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) and EpiPen on both adults and children.

Being able to perform CPR is a crucial skill that can save lives. It is often used for suspected heart attacks, drowning and drug overdoses. In these emergency situations, when CPR is applied by a first responder, it dramatically increases the casualty’s chance of survival and recovery. As a number of our training facilitators are registered nurses and healthcare professionals, many of them can draw on first-hand experience in delivering CPR so you can be assured of the quality and integrity of our training.

Provide CPR and AED is our most popular course as it is an annual course requirement for compliance across many industries. It is offered individually or as part of the benchmark HLTAID003 Provide first aid course. Provide CPR and AED follows the ARC (Australian Resuscitation Council) guidelines and all our facilitators are certified by ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority).

Provide CPR and AED Course Duration

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a two-hour practical course, performed in an open and friendly classroom environment. In order to successfully complete the course, you will be required to perform CPR on a dummy at floor level for at least two minutes.

To keep thing stress free and easy, you can fill out the quiz whilst reading through the course material. Completed quiz’s must be submitted on the day of the training and are a mandatory requirement for certification.

The reading time required to complete the quiz can vary based on your previous learning and experience.

USI Requirements

In line with the new government regulations, all students undertaking nationally recognised VET courses are required to register for a USI (unique student identifier) number. The USI number is unique to each individual and allows the government to keep an online record of all your ongoing training.

USI numbers are quick, free and easy to generate at the following website https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-usi. Alternatively, if you have lost or forgotten your USI number you can look it up here.
